Anne W. Burrell is a American TV personality who is a chef, and a former instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. Anne Burrell. Burrell hosts of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on Food Network. Food Network, as well as co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host who has spiky blond hair and an ebullient persona, shows how you can cook dishes that are restaurant quality at home using simple methods. Chef Burrell is also a seasoned veteran of New York City's best restaurants. She has also studied Italy's culinary tradition and its culture as well as the environment. While growing up in Upstate New York, Chef Burrell developed a passion for cooking and food from an early age. The Culinary Institute of America was where she studied following her graduation with an English degree and a Communications certificate at Canisius College Buffalo NY. I loved every minute during my time in The Culinary Institute of America she declares. I just couldn't get enough pleasure from the experience. Following graduation, Burrell spent one year in Italy studying in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and working in Umbria's La Taverna del Lupo as well as Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, which is a Michelin-starred establishment. While in Italy she was able to fully appreciate and understand the philosophy of Italian cuisine and culture which left a lasting impact on her culinary viewpoint. Burrell is a well-known ambassador of the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation and is a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which assists kids with disabilities. She frequently travels around the nation in her capacity as both a mentor and public speaker in which she speaks about her career and love of cooking. Anne said she felt lucky to be able to be able to share her passion for cooking with others.
